My first blog post!! I‘m writing this post to say a little bit more about myself and how I came to massage and reflexology.
I’ve always loved a massage, who doesn’t! But I’ve always been interested in why. Why does it feel so great? Why do I feel so relaxed afterwards? Why do my achy muscles feel better? And most importantly… why do I sleep so well? I never thought my interest in holistic well-being could take me on a journey to a profession that just feels like it fits.
I trained as a Librarian after university and have worked all over London for specialist collections, my focus is principally on rare and early printed books. During the pandemic however, it became increasingly clear that my youngest child (I have three) had a number of extra needs and returning to office based work seemed out of the question. Hence why I took the plunge and completed my Level 3 diploma in massage at the wonderful School of Natural Therapies in Clapham. I went on after this to do further studies in pre- and post-natal massage, deep tissue massage and later another diploma in reflexology.
My youngest son is now diagnosed as autistic (and absolutely loves a deep pressure massage!). With a busy family life, running my own business around my kid’s needs works really well for me. Not only do I get to do something I love but I get to be around for my family when they need me. I still work freelance in historic Libraries but my holistic therapies journey is taking me on new adventures.
